Snow

Oh how fond I am of the falling snow!

Like a blanket, softly cradling the frozen earth.

Steadily each diamond flake is building up the masses,

The world accompanied with the musical sound of silence.

Yet when you listen closely,

Each flake softly caressing the one beneath,

And this sugarcoated world is anything but sweet.

Oh how it awakens the senses, this gently falling snow!

Invigorate with striking clarity –

Of the mind through a cleansing of frozen brine;

A spray of clean water breaking into a thousand crystals.

Oh, how the winter chides raw around your gently shaking bones!

The earth lies chilled –

And the boughs dip low,

Suffocating sweetly through

This gently falling snow.
